Why we built this
Human activity is changing the earth in unprecedented ways: surface temperatures have risen faster than in any other 50-year period over the past 2,000 years and CO2 levels are higher than any point in the last 800,000 years. This is putting us in uncharted territory with sea levels set to rise by 2m by 2100. It's crucial for companies to be able to take action.
We've spoken to hundreds of small to medium sized companies who want to make an impact, but struggle to understand how to even get started. The challenges are many:
- Collecting data from lots of different sources across the company
- Finding the right calculator to measure these emissions
- Lack of time to calculate emissions each month
- Finding the right projects to invest in.
These are all blockers to getting started and can waste valuable time and money.
Faster measurement...without greenwashing
Our end-to-end solution has covered everything that you need. Using bank grade security and encryption, we connect in with accounting software to import 100% of your supply chain emissions. Close to 80% of emissions are generated through a companies supply chain and we follow the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol to measure emissions correctly.
Once this has been done, we apply a machine learning algorithm to categorise and generate emissions. You have now captured the emissions of your entire supply chain in just a few minutes!
You can also add in building or office emissions to get a full picture of the company's carbon footprint. Many companies we spoke to are in shared office spaces which make it incredibly difficult to split out their energy usage.
Generating your buildings emissions can be done in two ways:
- If you know your emissions you can add these in directly
- If you don't know your emissions we can provide estimates based on the buildings average size.
To get started:
- Click Add a building
- Give your building a name, choose the average size, and the buildings location
- Add in the figures under each section. If you don't know the figures just hit No and your emissions will be generated automatically
Easy to make an impact
Once you've set this up, you can head over to the analyse page to see a breakdown of the company's carbon footprint. You can see this by scope, by category and can also dig deeper into the sub categories hotspots, making it easier to start reporting on your emissions.
